Required Documents

_____________________

The number of admitted students per year is set at a maximum of two hundred (200) postgraduate students.

The selection will be carried out on the basis of the evaluation of the candidates’ application files and an interview conducted by the Candidate Evaluation Committee. Upon the recommendation of the Coordinating Committee and by decision of the Program Steering Committee, the Candidate Evaluation Committee is appointed each year. The Committee consists of three (3) members of the Teaching and Research Staff with expertise in the same or a related field to that of the Transnational Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Programme.

For the admission of postgraduate students, a Call for Expression of Interest is issued each year upon the recommendation of the Coordinating Committee and by decision of the Program Committee.

Within the framework of distance-learning postgraduate programs, if specific technological equipment is required for the evaluation process, this must be stated in the call issued for the submission of applications by candidates wishing to enroll in the program (Article 6, par. 2, Government Gazette B’1079/28.2.2023). The announcement is published by the University of Patras, under the responsibility of the Department, while the related costs are covered by the University of Patras. The announcement is posted on the website of the Department and the University, as well as on the websites of the collaborating universities.

The announcement includes all the information necessary for interested candidates. Candidates submit their application files electronically (or by post following a decision of the Coordinating Committee) to the Secretariat of the Transnational Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program.

Specifically, electronic submission is carried out through an open-access electronic platform of the University of Patras (or another platform if required), the address of which is explicitly stated in the call for applications. Postal submission is made to the Secretariat of the Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education within the deadline specified in the announcement, which may be extended by decision of the Program Committee.

Candidates are advised to carefully review the instructions related to each evaluation criterion so that their application files are submitted complete within the specified deadlines. Supplementary, incomplete, or late supporting documents are not accepted.

The application file includes:

(a) the candidate’s application for admission to the Transnational Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program, and
(b) the supporting documents specified both in the announcement and in Appendix 1 of this Regulation.

Specifically:

  1. a) application form (electronic and/or printed),
    b) copy of degree or certificate of completion of studies,
    c) transcript of records,
    d) detailed curriculum vitae (including studies, teaching and/or professional experience, and scientific activity),
    e) evidence of research or professional activity (if available),
    f) at least two letters of recommendation (signed by Teaching and Research Staff members of the candidate’s institution or by Teaching and Research Staff members of other institutions familiar with the candidate’s academic qualifications),
    g) copy of postgraduate degree (if available),
    h) publications in peer-reviewed journals (if available),
    i) photocopy of both sides of the identity card,

  • First Certificate in English,
  • TOEFL with a score of at least 500 (or 300 under the new evaluation system),
  • IELTS with a score of 6.5 or above,
  • State Certificate of Language Proficiency (level B2).

Graduates of English-speaking universities are exempt from submitting proof of language proficiency. If none of the above requirements are met, the Coordinating Committee of the Transnational Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Programme will determine the method of assessing candidates’ English language proficiency.

Knowledge of a second foreign language will be positively considered.

There is the possibility of part-time study, following a justified request submitted by the student and approval by the Program Committee.

The following categories of students are eligible to apply for part-time study:

  1. a) students who demonstrably work at least twenty (20) hours per week (supporting documents include employer certification, copy of employment/work contract, certificate of employment status, or other necessary documentation),
  2. b) students with disabilities and special educational needs,
  3. c) students who are active athletes and during their studies belong to sports clubs registered in the electronic registry of sports clubs of Article 142 of Law 4714/2020 (A’148) maintained by the General Secretariat for Sports, under the following conditions:

Students in this subcategory may register as part-time students after submitting an application approved by the Dean’s Office of the School.

For students enrolled under a part-time study regime, each semester is counted as half an academic semester. These students may not be examined in a number of courses exceeding half of the courses provided per semester in the Transnational Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program.

The duration of part-time study may not exceed twice the duration of full-time study.
